Odds of a successful pregnancy after recurrent miscarriage?From: Karen (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 9 Oct 2001 15:42:15 -0500 (CDT)
I have just suffered my second miscarriage this year (one at 8 weeks, one at 4) and am about to begin diagnostic testing with a RE. Some of my female co-workers, who happen to be quite a bit older than me, have voiced the opinion that I shouldn't waste time and expense on testing and should just accept the fact that I am "infertile" and look into adoption. While I think this opinion is archaic and am definitely going to have the testing done, I have begun to wonder how much of what can be detected through the tests would be correctable and just what the odds of my ever carrying a pregnancy to term are? Should I remain hopeful since (at least) I seem to have no trouble getting pregnant?
