Re: 22 days until EDD and told I DON'T Look Pregnant!!From: Joy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 8 Oct 2001 15:35:57 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I was in the "huge" category when I was pregnant. I showed very early and gained a lot of weight. What I hear though, is that for those who show so late it is probably because they had strong ab muscles before pregnancy. If your doctor isn't worried, I wouldn't worry. But, I understand how comments can make you feel. I was five months pregnant and I heard things like "wow, you look farther along than five months" and "are you sure you are not having twins" etc etc. Regardless if you are showing too much, or not showing much people sure can be rude with their comments! :0) My guess is your tummy will probably really start protruding this month and you will wish you had your flat tummy back! :) Oh, btw--my baby was 8 lbs six oz. By the way I looked, everyone was predicting a 10 pounder!! :) And a friend of mine who gained very little weight had a 10 pounder! So, weight is definitely not a sure sign of how big your baby will be. Good luck! Joy R.
