I have had diarrhea about once everyday (generally at night) since I got pregnant. I am now 16 weeks. I told my obgyn about this and she said it was common in pregnancy. I have lost 5 pounds since becoming pregnant (I was of a normal weight to begin with). Not sure if this is due to the diarrhea or the nausea I had for the first 12 weeks. Before pregnancy I had this problem but it wasn't as frequent (more like 2 or 3x a week). Like I said, it generally happens after dinner with cramping and then I just go once and feel fine. I have read about IBS and it seems like it could be this. Could this hurt the baby? Should I see a gastro. (not even going to attempt to spell) doc? Like I said, my ob didn't say much about it. Thanks for your response.
