Severe upper abdminal painFrom: Angela (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 03 Oct 2001 14:57:26 -0500
I am 16 weeks into my 1st pregnancy. I have been experiencing severe upper abdominal pains. I have 2 (full time) jobs, one of which involves standing. The pain is really bad when I walk and when the table I work at (a hotel dealing Roulette) presses on my stomach. I have called my ob, and the receptionist answered the question as normal growing pains, told me not to worry, & it is ok to go back to work tomorrow. I returned today, & had the same problem again. There is no blood, but the pain is so severe it makes me cry. Prior to these pains, I was having a problem with severe headaches. Are these connected? Does it have anything to do with working in a smoky environment or standing up working? Should I seek a second opinion or new ob? Should I still work in pain? I am looking for some real direction & help please. Thank you :o)
