Re: 'Chemical pregnancy' - now whatFrom: Kristine (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 2 Oct 2001 06:31:31 -0500 (CDT)
Hi. First let me say that I am very sorry for your loss. I also had a chemical pregnancy my first month of trying to have a baby. It was devastating to go from being so happy to being so sad in such a short amount of time. My dctor at the time was not much help and did not really tell me what to expect. She only said that I would have a period in a week or so. I am not sure how high my levels were at that time but I cannot immagine that it will take long for your levels to fall from 450. I bled a week later and it was an intense first day. I had horrible cramping and clotting and although I have bad normal periods, this was no comparison. I bled for about a day and a half and it was over. Well, physically at least. The good news is that chemical pregnancies are very common and most women have at least one whether or not they know it. You were able to find out very early that you were pregnant due to blood tests. Had you not had them, you would have assumed that your period was just late. The other good news is that I became pregnant the following month and an mow 13 and a half weeks along. All is looking good. Hope this information helps. If you want more specifics, you can e-mail me at kkrumm@ec.rr.com. Best of luck and again I am very sorry for your loss.
