'free fluid' in uterus/poss ectopic?From: Dee (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 1 Oct 2001 11:25:03 -0500 (CDT)
I have a question from someone with experience. I went to the hospital on the day before I was supposed to come on my period for abdominal pain...I believe I am pregnant (at that time I would've been only 3 weeks)....my abdomen is enlarged, my belly button is starting to poke out (as in my other pregnancies, just not as early). The nurse said that I look like I am about 5 months pregnant which I know I cannot be. I would've gotten pregnant in September around the 13th....they heard a heartbeat with the doppler on my left side (where the pain is) the heartbeat was 175 per minute and my rate was 120 so they sent me for an ultrasound. They did a intravaginal ultrasound in which the doctor saw "free fluid" in my uterus...he said it looks like the beginning of a pregnancy. I was also told that it was too early to take a pregnancy test. My question is, are they signs of a possible ectopic? I have gained considerable weight (which I only do when I am pregnant), and have nausea and breast tenderness and fulness. I have previously had an ectopic pregnancy. Since I have a history of ectopic does that make me likely to have another? Sorry for the long post, I just thought you should know a little background to be able to answer me. Thanks.
