Help! I am 49 and 7 weeks pregnant. What is likely to happen? I thought I would have miscarried by now. A few days back I had period-like symptoms but nothing came of it. I am so astounded that this could happen! I have only been having 2-3 periods per year for the past 3 years. I even had hot flushes. I went to a country wedding where I met up with a lot of old high school mates and what with the alcohol, high spirits and so on, I ended up spending the night with my high-school sweetheart. He's as surprised as I am. I have two kids, aged 13 and 15 and both were born by emergency caesarian due to toxaemia at 32 weeks. I had nightmare pregnancies, having to spend months in hospital. Am I likely to die? Abortion is out of the question.
