C-section painFrom: SarahB (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 30 Sep 2001 15:26:00 -0500 (CDT)
I delivered my son by emergency c-section on 9/19 due to partial placenta abruption. He was 38 weeks - 7lb 5oz. Previously I had a c-section at 31 weeks due to the same thing (baby was 4lb 13 oz). I had a very easy recovery from that c-section - which I am thinking might be because he was still tiny?.... this time the right end of my incision tore and I had quite bad bruising and swelling on the right half from a couple inches above the incision to my pubic bone (purple/blue). I am still having alot of pain in that area and also alot of pain when I urinate (no UTI and the anti-spasm meds didn't help)... I am thinking the later is just from bruising still? My questions are: How long should I expect to have the pain as part of a normal c-section recovery? Is it normal to have pain with urination after a c-section? Should I notify my doctor sooner rather than waiting for my 4 week appt? Thank you for any help! SarahB
