Previous C-section Scars (Someone please answer 3rd time posting!)From: Barbara (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 29 Sep 2001 11:35:37 -0500 (CDT)
I lost a son due to placenta abruption in Aug. and went for my postpartum visit on Wed. It seems that my placenta adhered to the top of my uterus and caused my previous c-section scar to weaken and it was starting to open. We spoke about future pregnancies and my Dr. told me that I would be considered high-risk and be on bedrest. I will also be followed up with biophysical profiles and the baby will be delivered at the first sign of a problem. My son that died never showed any signs of anything wrong, until they did the c-section and discovered my uterus was filled with blood. He suffered from severe HIE and died a week later. Has anyone else gone through this (a previous scar opening)? With proper care, is this a manageable thing or should I just forget about trying again? Thanks to all.
