Hi Arlene,

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss - what an awful tragedy. I do have a m/w appointment today, "just to check." My u/s have all indicated that my cervix is long and closed, and I carried my daughter full term with no problems, and as I recall that would seem to rule out an incompetant cervix. My spotting is also completely gone. I'm thinking, based on the research I've done since yesterday, that this is normal "growing pain" as it tends to be worse in the evening, and is not accompanied by cramping or pressure, and I'm also having burning/stretching pains in the sides of my abdoman. But, like you learned so tragically, better to get checked by a professional than to wonder.

Please take care of yourself, I wish you much healing.
