My son was born when my daughter was 21 months old and it's been a wonderful experience for the whole family. They are close enough to share interests and friends despite the fact that their personalities are *very* different (night and day!) I don't remember any special hardships involved regarding care, but that was a long time ago. Time may have erased unpleasant memories. At 14 and 16, now they are excitedly anticipating the arrival of a new sibling. 21 months vs. 194 months--how's that for extremes?
