Amy, the key ingredient in the Robitussin is guaifenesin, which is an expectorant normally used to loosen chest congestion- and apparently, it also works to thin out cervical mucus. Check the label- unless you also have a cough or nasal congestion, you don't need the other ingredients in some Robitussin formulas (which might include dextromethorphan, a cough suppresant, or pseudoephedrine, a nasal decongestant, etc.) I just bought a generic version for $3 or so and started taking it about 3 days before I ovulated. I took it for about 4 days, until after I knew I had ovulated and just followed the dosing on the label. I got pregnant the very first time I tried it- even after being told by my RE that I would need intrauterine insemination because of abnormal cervical mucus! Good luck!
