Well, you could always tell him you had a positive HPT test, and that you think all signs are go, and that you are waiting for the Dr's office to confirm. I guess it depends on how you think he would feel (I know my own hubby wanted to know everything right away :) ) So, I personally would tell him now, especially since you sound pretty positive about it.
I don't know about the chances of not being pregnant, supposedly HPTs are pretty sensitive and accurate these days.
