Extra lobe in placenta

I had an ultrasound yesterday at 19 weeks at an ultrasound diagnostic school. The instructor saw an extention of my placenta that she said looked like a contraction, but could be an additional lobe. She checked again later in the exam and it was still there, so it looks like an additinal lobe. The baby looks perfectly healthy. My questions is this: is this a dangerous condition? Could it cause any problems to me or my baby? Thank you for any input.
