What else can I do to get pregnant?From: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 16 Sep 2001 16:36:47 -0500 (CDT)
I will be 40 in October. I have had one normal vaginal delivery (with the exception of my having getstational diabetes and an 11 pound infant) at age 28. Was previously on the pill 10 years, discontinued them, and 2 months later became pregnant. I have been off the pill for 8 months now trying to get pregnant and every month my periods seem to get heavier nad heavier. They start out with a reddish creamy discharge and cramping which lasts about 5 days, then actual bleeding with clots in which I change pads every hour during the day for the next three days. Then the bleeding tapers down the next 2 days, and it's back to the reddish creamy discharge for 5-6 more days. After that, a period of 18 to 19 days with no cramping or discharge and the cycle starts over. The ovulation predictor tests indicate 14-15 days after the actual bleeding I will be ovulating within 24-48 hours. I have also checked my husband's sperm under a microscope which is mobile. I am in excellent physical health with no known diseases. What else can I do to get preganant?
