At my routine appt yesterday we discovered our baby no longer had a heartbeat. What a shock as last month we saw the heartbeat at 10w on u/s and all was well. No indications that anything went wrong. Today was the D&C.

My question is about trying again. I was told my period would probably come in 6-8 weeks and then I would need to wait 3 cycles. I have heard varying remarks from other friends about how long they were told to wait. What is your opinion on this? Why the need to wait so long? Once I get a period what is the danger of trying right away? The thought of waiting 5 months to try again makes me even more sad.
