Question about exact date of conception/fertilization and due dateFrom: julie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 12 Sep 2001 17:48:02 -0500 (CDT)
I'm almost 35 weeks pregnant, and I know exactly the date the baby was conceived (or the egg fertilized; not really sure of the correct terminology). At any rate, 266 days makes my due date of 10/21. Counting from my LMP makes the due date 10/21. My 16 week ultrasound said 10/21. So, my question is ... if you're pretty darn certain of the date of conception, is the baby still "term" at 37 weeks? Are the odds of having an early or late baby reduced? In other words, is the 2 week window on either side in part there as a cushion for when the mom doesn't know exactly when concpetion was? Tahnks!
