Due date around the corner & may have a yeast infection

What are the consequences of an untreated yeast infection so close to delivery date?

I'm 37 ½ weeks pregnant and without really checking under a microscope, my doctor has determined I have a yeast infection.(itching outside my vagina, primarily around the clitoris and vulva) My urinalysis culture, which can determine if I have a bladder infection instead, has not returned yet….

Meanwhile, my OBGYN told me to get the 7 day vaginal treatment called Monistat 7, but I'm not sure if this is safe during pregnancy. I'm uneasy about using this cream for fear it can reach the baby...Plus the fact that I visit the bathroom like 8 times at night, and I know that the cream won't be held in throughout the night anyway. I've heard of a suppository type of treatment also….Would that work?

Would my baby be in any kind of danger during delivery if I indeed have a yeast infection. I've heard the baby can get something called thrush. Is this dangerous?

Please advise! My delivery due date is on September 22nd and I don't know if I even have enough time to complete this treatment anyway.

Thanks in advance, I really appreciate it.
