Montgomery, MD: "Re: early bleeding" I was wondering, I had a miscarriage in early June and we found out I am about 7 weeks pregnant a few weeks ago. I started bleeding around two weeks ago, only spotting and when I have bowel movements, which is coming from the vagina and not the rectum. I have had two ultrasounds, the heart rate and growth was consistent so they said not to really worry about the spotting. Is there any chance this is indicating some problem that hasn't shown up yet. The bleeding was due to a large clot lying over the cervix, which I passed. Am I likely to have more of these clots and can they create problems even if the embryo is growing at a proper rate? (The miscarriage in June was due to a bad heart in the embryo, which took 5 weeks to go from a slow rate to stopping at 11.5 weeks.) Any comments that might reassure me would be helpful.
