To Anonymous about PVC arrhythmiasFrom: Kristy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 4 Sep 2001 16:16:52 -0500 (CDT)
I am not sure if the clomid has anything to do with the PVC's, but I just wanted to send you a note and let you know that I have PVC's, too. I've had them for the last seven years and they terrify me. The cardiologist told me they are "benign" [not life threatening], but they sure FEEL like they're life threatening sometimes. Anyway, I'm 41 years old now and I'm pregnant with my third [27 weeks along]. I'm seeing my cardiologist again next friday because my PVC's seem to be much worse during pregnancy. I think hormones could most likely affect the heart, but I also know that increased blood volume definately plays a part in it. I wish you the best - I know how scary these arrhythmias are! By the way, if they don't pick up any PVC's on the 24 hour monitor, insist on getting an event monitor - I used one called "King of Hearts". You wear it for several weeks and record any heart events you have. It is much more reliable than a 24 hour holter test because so often these 24-hour tests don't pick up the sometimes random arrhythmias. Hope this helps... Kristy B.
