They sent me to a perinatologist who feels like the tech made a mistake. He got a measurement of 1.6mm. He sees nothing wrong and my Triple Screen is normal. In fact he advised me against an amnio, which is what my OB was wanting based on the tech's original msmt. There are many, MANY, people out there on message boards who have been given terrifying results of this measurement and are being told that their odds of having a Down's baby are extremely high. They are all, it seems, finding out either through amnio or the birth that there is nothing at all wrong with their babies. Why are they putting so many women through torture when I keep hearing that it requires special training to measure? If that tech only knew how she has made my pregnancy a nightmare of worry!
