A few more questions- no period-what's next ?From: Megan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 31 Aug 2001 12:23:41 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, had another bad night of pain and need some opinions. My back , upper legs , and both lower sides hurt REALLY bad .I said to myself "this must be it" referring to a miscarriage or a BAD period but nothing came and later on the pains all stopped and went away again. My period was due yesterday or today but so far no signs of it, just the usual new pregnancy symptoms .For those who weren't following my story , i got a positive test result on cd 24 and a negative urine test 6 days later at doctors. I appreciated Dr. Daniel for taking the time to reply but it discouraged me a little because i'm trying to still be hopeful . I was wondering , where hcg levels and the rate they increase varies between women , is there a chance that even if mine didn't increase enough or fast enough that there could still be a viable pregnancy there ? I'm hoping that my test was just extra sensitive and the doctors was less sensitive , because that way combined with the variation factor i was thinking(hoping) maybe i was just still in the low levels even six days after first test. In the past it always seemed i had slow rising hcg levels.Another thing , my doctor "claims" his tests picks up on less than a level of 5 , but yet the last time i miscarried , his said negative and the hospital got a faint positive on their urine test.Plus the hospital claimed "theirs" was better .Also, hospital tested 2 hour urine , and so did my doctor . In fact , this time he tested only 2 hour urine again and i used first morn urine when i tested at home .Sorry to pester everyone , but i really need more advice . Thanks:)
