fetal movements during 1st trimesterFrom: jane (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 31 Aug 2001 01:01:09 -0500 (CDT)
I am 13 weeks pregnant and I've had 2 ultrasounds already, one at 7w5d and another at 10w6d. My OB said everything looks fine and the baby's heartbeat was strong (although her u/s machine could not tell us how fast the heart was beating). I am a little concerned because we did not see any fetal movement at either ultrasound and I've been reading a lot of accounts of babies jumping around and doing somersaults during some of the early ultrasounds during the 1st trimester. When I was pregnant with my daughter, we had our first ultrasound at 9 weeks and I remember she was bouncing around too. Also, the baby was in the EXACT same position during both ultrasounds. Should I be concerned that we have not seen the baby move (not even a twitch!) and it seems that the baby has not moved or switched positions in 3 weeks? Thanks for your help and reassurance.
