10 weeks pregnant and low progesteroneFrom: Maria (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 30 Aug 2001 17:53:17 -0500 (CDT)
I am 10 weeks, 6 days pregnant and had a progesterone test done 6 days ago. My OB called today to say my progesterone is below normal levels. She said they didn't want to put me on progesterone suppositories because they "had read that it doesn't really prevent miscarriage." In the past when I've had a low progesterone count, I've been put on suppositories and the baby went to term. I did have a sonogram last week and the baby is doing well and has a heartbeat of 165. Should I just take my OB's advice or should I seek a new OB? This is a new OB for me and I don't like doing the "wait and see" thing as I have already had 2 miscarriages this year, one at 12 weeks and one at 7. Thanks in advance.
