CST

I underwent a contraction stress test on Friday, at 38 weeks, due to a couple of "dips" on NSTs last week (one of the dips was due to me being placed too flat on my back which made me sick and made the baby's heartrate drop slightly). I'm high risk due to chronic hypertension, and have been having routine US my entire pregnancy, and NSTs for the last 3 weeks. The great news was the baby is healthy. I dilated slightly during the test, I was 2 when it started and wound up "almost" 3 cm, and began to have bloody show towards the end of the test. The nurse told me that should be brown by Saturday, but it has continued, though not as heavy as at first.

How often does a CST tip an at term pregnancy into labor?

BTW, don't ask me WHY this doc just didn't induce me, if there were concerns about the baby, she is not my regular doc, who is on vacation until Tuesday. He has told me since my first prenatal appt that as soon as there were ANY red flags towards the end of the pregnancy, we would take the baby, due to my health issues and the complications I had with my first pregnancy. I'm going to have plenty to complain about when I see him Tuesday AM, and he is not allowed to go on vacation anymore. :)
