I'm not a doctor, but I don't know how anyone can say this. Progesterone before ovulation could act as a contraceptive. However, progesterone is in your body after ovulation and does aid in implantation. In fact, I am seeing one of the best RE's in NYC and I take prometrium after ovulation to help with implantation because my own progesterone is low. In fact, this is quite routine in infertility. Not enough progesterone, would act as a contraceptive. If you are having problems with conceiving, you should really be seeing a reproductive endocrinologist who can guide you in the right direction. >
