general q: when to tell

I just found out I'm pregnant--1st time--4 weeks along (counting from last period) My husband knows & my gyne, but I have yet to read anything regarding when is appropriate to first inform family & friends. I read miscarriages most often occur in the 1st trimester, but only 15% of pregnancies actually do. No female related to me by blood in the last 2-3 generations has had a miscarriage. I am curious about others' experiences with this matter. My mom has been very anxious for her 1st grand baby; my cousin is 3 mos ahead of me (announced within 1st 2 mos) so my aunt is "becoming a grandmother first!" and ours will give my in-laws 5; we're 4-5 mos behind another one on the way (announced at 3 mos)! I think I want my Mom to know so I have a close female sounding board. My cousin & I are close, and wanted to be pregnant together. And it is exciting to have my sister-in-law due also. Am I answering my own question?! I'd still like to read your experiences! Thanks!!
