Julie, In your case, with your history, personally I would just start you on glucose monitoring with your current diet. I would have you check your fasting blood glucose and then values 2 hours following each meal. If the values were above what I like to see, I would then begin with an ADA diet and continue to follow the sugars. The values I would use are a fasting of 95 or less and two hours values less than 120... Lynn
