Not a doctor but I think that 10DPO is probably too early. If you read the packjage inserts they will tell you (the really sensitive ones) that the test can ID a pregnancy like 30% of the time 3 days early, and 50% of the time 1-2 days early, etc. This is my 4th and as much as I hated to wait I would at least wait until the day after my period was supposed to started - that way I knew that the result would probably be correct (ie. my period would probably have started or the test would more likely show a correct negative/positive). They are expensive and it is really easy to wrapped up in worrying about whether or not you are/are not when you test really early and the result is negative or ambiguous. Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide to do.
