-- After trying for over a year and doing 2 unsuccessful clomid cycles, you should do an hsg now to see what is going on with the tubes. There is no point in doing IUI with injectibles until you see what is up with your tubes. Also, at this point your husband should have a sperm analysis done. Regarding the HSG, if the tubes are open, there shouldn't be any real pain. I have one tube blocked and I did feel pain but it lasted for only a few seconds. One reason for IVF is when the tubes are not ok- you don't need good tubes to do IVF. You should also have a blood test on day 3 to measure your ovarian reserve.
