I have high prolactin level and I currently take Dostinex to regulate my levels. I am also trying to conceive. Is it common to be prescribed Prometrium/progesterone while trying to conceive? My OB/GYN prescribed Prometrium for me however I am under the assumption that progesterone is harmful if taken during pregnancy. Is it OK to take now since I am not pregnant and then discontinue once I do become pregnant? Why would she have prescribed Prometrium instead of Provera?
