Varicose veins of the vulva...ughFrom: anon (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 9 Aug 2001 00:27:19 -0500 (CDT)
When I was preggers with my son nine years ago, I developed varicose veins of the vulva. They never went away, but after the birth, they only "popped out" if I was squatting or sitting on the toilet. Now that I'm preggers again, they're out all the time. They seem bigger and worse than they were before. It's starting to look like there's "worms" underneath the vulva, as well as near the inner labia, and I hate it. Is there ANYTHING that I can do to bring improvement with this condition? [can a person actually get rid of them?] I hate to think of what I'll look like down there when I'm nine months along! Do kegals or anything help? Also, I've noticed that you can see my vaginal walls from the opening of my vagina - and in fact, it appears that my vagina is protruding out about 1/3 of an inch. I'm starting to get really self conscious about this - I don't like my husband to see me there anymore, let alone my doctor! What could this be from [the protruding vagina]? I don't have a prolapsed uterus - it's just that my vagina kinda "hangs out" a little. I want to look and feel normal again instead of looking like there's been an "explosion" in my crotch. Any suggestions, or do I have to look icky forever?
