I'm not a doc but I know just what you're talking about. If you have 1 chorion that means you have identical twins, there is a rare condition with them called Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS). Its great that your doc knows about this and is keeping watch for it because it is very serious. It doesn't happen often tho so don't worry too much. My boys had TTTS and I was lucky that it was caught early due to close watching. Here's a site with information on TTTS:

http://www.tttsfoundation.org/

The baby books will not address TTTS really, at least none of the dozens I have did. That's why you're not finding it in them. As for measuring big your doc is correct, it means nothing when you're pregnant with twins or more.. mine didn't even do them! Good Luck with your twins :) Welcome to the club!!
