Rh-, sensitized, pregnant and scaredFrom: Nora (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 3 Aug 2001 15:56:51 -0500 (CDT)
If someone wouldn't mind to please take a few moments to answer my question. My midwife is not certain about all the risks/possibilities and I don't have an appointment with a specialist as of yet. I am O- and with my first baby (B+) (5 years ago) I recieved Rhogam at 28wks and after delivery. Then a year ago I had a miscarriage at about 7 weeks and no one gave me another shot of Rhogam. My new midwife is concerned (and testing me) for sensitization since all of these pregnancies have been with the same partner (who is B+). Is this true that my body could be building antibodies to my fetus (10 weeks) and will I lose this baby? This is devastating news and apparently this whole issue would be mute had I received Rhogam after the miscarriage. I just don't know what to expect or what I should do. Thank you.
