right upper quadrant PAIN... preecclampsia? - would like Dr. opinion please

I am 29 years old, 33 weeks pregnant. According to a recent ultrasound, baby's weight is 5lbs 4 oz. At last checkup I had gained 8 pounds in 2 weeks (11 pounds TOTAL weight gain prior to this appointment.) My blood pressure stays very close to 120/70 and no protein in urine throughout pregnancy. I have been retaining water recently, but without "pitting" as I have seen discussed in the archives. My main concern other than the sudden weight gain is right upper quadrant pain. I have had it for a couple months... more severe in the last 2-3 weeks. It is a VERY sore ache directly under my right breast that I have always assumed is rib pain. My baby concentrates her activity in that area and there is really no room between my uterus and ribs now. It hurts more when the baby is more active or when I stretch, laugh hard, or roll over in bed. Should I be concerned about preeclampsia/liver problems? My OB has decided to see me more often for awhile to watch my bp and protein just in case, but he seems to think that "rib pain" is an accurate diagnosis for the pain I have been feeling. Am I being overly cautious or could this be the beginning of preeclampsia?

Thank you for your time, Heather G.
