accreta/ loss of mucous plugFrom: Julie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 31 Jul 2001 21:17:10 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I am 35 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child. I've been having Braxton Hicks contraxtions for at least a month on and off. I was on bedrest for a while for low lying placenta. Now, I think I lost my mucous plug yesterday. And I was cramping and having contractions again today. I've already been to the hospital 4 times for what I thought was preterm labor (concern over previa). and 2 weeks ago I went to the hospital because I thought I was leaking fluid, but the test came back negative and they sent me home because my contractions weren't consistent. I've had severe lower back pain since then (that's when it started - when I thought I was leaking fluid). And pelvic pressure, that sometimes feels like the baby will just fall out. And contractions on and off. Now,I feel like I am bothering the dr. calling about this mucous thing. But, I am also at risk for placenta accreta, because of the position of the placenta and I am supposed to have a csection because my uterus could rupture. (due to a prior emergency csection) so, should I just wait for my appointment next week. Or should I call. Or wait for contractions. (one nurse told me not to come back until I am doubled over in pain from contractions- but I didn't even wait that long with my 1st child to go to the hospital, and he was born pretty quickly.) I'm just afraid to go back, because of how they will make me feel dumb again. Maybe I'm just being overemotional. Should I be concerned? thank you Julie
