Mandatory C-section after 2 previous C-sections??From: Veronica (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 31 Jul 2001 20:53:50 -0500 (CDT)
Both physicians in my practice are discouraging me from trying VBAC with my third pregnancy following two prior C-sections (they were for two different reasons - the first I pushed for hours but baby's head was not positioned for delivery; second "failure to progress" - my water broke at 36 weeks). They are not discouraging me because of my own health or experiences, but because they are afraid of uterine rupture, and say the rate at our local hospitals with attempted VBACS is 1 in 100. I would really like to try to deliver vaginally, but certainly don't want to risk my baby's (or for that matter, my own) health doing it. I would really appreciate another medical opinion. Thanks. Veronica
