Baby's position (or change of ) at 37 weeksFrom: Taye (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 31 Jul 2001 11:02:13 -0500 (CDT)
I'm 37 weeks pregnant and since my week 34 appt, baby has been head down (u/s confirmed this). Baby had been laying head down, baby's back on left side of my belly and baby's legs & feet on right side of my belly. Last night, baby was very active. This morning when I woke up, I felt alot of movement on my left side, and have since been feeling the movement on my left side. I have a home doppler and I'm still able to hear the baby's heart beat at my belly button level and lower, but now heart beat is heard on the right side of my belly instead of left side like it was before. So I am assuming that my little one flipped sides last night. But what I'm wondering is how can I tell if baby is still head down? Is it possible for baby to flip sides this late in pregnancy, but more likely to still remain head down? I didn't think there was enough room for baby to turn around anymore. Is it true that if the heart beat is heard in lower half of belly, then baby is still head down? And also, does this position change mean that baby is getting ready for birth? Thanks for any help:-)
