At 12 weeks US has an accuracy of plus or minus 7-10 days. Therefore if the ultrasound is within 7-10 days of what your LMP says, It CONFIRMS your LMP date and does not change it. With an LMP of 5-2-01, your EDC is 2-9-02. Another US at 18 weeks will only be accurate to plus or minus 14 days. at 30 weeks it is plus or minus 21 days and at 36 weeks it is plus or minus a month.. The first US is the most accurate US as far as dates are concerned. An accurate LMP confirmed by a 12 week US is excellent dating and should not be messed with.
