Hypothyroid Caused Miscarriage??

Last month, I tested positive on a blood test for pregnancy. By the end of the week, my levels dropped and I got my period the following Sunday. My doctor called it a chemical pregnancy and said that they are fairly common. She also said that the reason for it was probably the fact that my thyroid levels (I am hypothyroid) were very off. On the level that is supposed to be .5 - 5.5, mine was an 18. This discovery was made right about the time that implantation would have occured and she think that it was why the pregnancy did not last. Since I only had my period one week late, she told me that we could try this month. My period is due tomorrow but I took an HPT yesterday and it was positive. Do you believe that the hypo caused the problem? I am just so scared that it will happen again. I had thyroid tests done three weeks ago and my levels are now normal.
