Problem with IVFFrom: Margie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 23 Jul 2001 11:41:42 -0500 (CDT)
I have never posted to this forum and I am hoping that I can find some help. I am writing to get information for my sister-in-law. She and my brother have been trying to have a baby for the last 4 years. She has been to an infertility center in NY (NYU). She and my brother have been tested for everything under the sun, with no abnormalities. There doesn't seem to be an explanation why she can't get pregnant. She has had two IVF treatments, neither of which have yielded a pregnancy. One thing my brother has mentioned is that once the IVF procedure is completed, the egg (?) basically explodes. (I don't know if I am using the correct terminology-please bear with me). Has anyone any idea what this means and why this happens? I am desperately trying to find some encouraging information as I am anxious to become an aunt (I have 2 children of my own). They are both so disappointed and sad and I wish I could give them something to go on. Thank you all.
