32 weeks/dropped/pelvic pressure/vaginal painsFrom: Deena (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 22 Jul 2001 09:31:40 -0500 (CDT)
Saturday night, late, the baby suddenly turned head down and dropped very quickly. I am assuming head down since she was head up at my last OB visit and this was definitely a 180 by the feel. Since then I have had quite a bit of low back pressure/pain and sharp, shooting vaginal pains. I am 32 weeks today. I am almost 38, this is my second child. My first will be 16 in November and was born on his due date with no problems at all. The back pressure hasn't been particularly rhythmic - it varies in intensity but is always there. There seems to be quite a lot of pressure on my cervix. I can breathe more easily, but when the pressure intensifies it seems to make me catch my breath. The baby is quite active still, squirming, punching and kicking. I did some searching on the archive earlier and found that the sharp vaginal pains might be thinning and effacement of the cervix - but I couldn't find an answer to my particular question. Access to the archive was down when I went to search again. My question is - do I call my OB and tell the doctor on call about this today? Monday? or wait until my next appt. almost two weeks from now? Thank you
