I am almost 38 weeks pregnant - and five years ago i had a splenectomine for itp - i was informed that my baby could get the itp from me and my doctor gave me 3 options 1) take a fetal blood sample to check platelet count to see if a c section is necessary 2) do a c section just in case 3) or just do vaginal birth - when i told the dr. i just preferred not to take the chance with a vaginal birth i would rather do a c section for the babies safety they argued with me saying it isnt necessary and the risks are so low its not worth doing a c section - My question is should i argue the case of getting the c section - i just dont see why i should take the chance even if small (she said 10% which is large enough for me) i would just feel better knowing the baby will be safe and since im so far along im running out of time. Thank you very much Amber
