I took clomid and it worked well for me - from everything I have heard and read there is controversy about whether a short luteal phase is a problem unto itself or just the result of no ovulation - that means there is controversy over whether progesterone in the second half (w/o clomid to help with ovulation) really is worthwhile. Before I was successful I would often have cycles showing a temp rise of 10-11 days... the clomid really helped me and I did take it with progesterone supps after pregnancy was confirmed just in case. I do not think the clomid will help avoid a genetic problem in an egg or embryo. I hope everything works well for you and you are finally succesful.
