miscarriage, birth defects, infertilityFrom: JAW (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 18 Jul 2001 16:30:37 -0500 (CDT)
These are my biggest fears in life because I love children so much and simply can't wait for when my husband and I start in January. I have no family history of any of these things, but still, I am SO scared it will for some insane reason happen to me! I am so passionate (nuerotic) about prevention of these problems, I have already purchased 4 books on nutrition & health, prenatal and during pregnancy, researched at least 30 websites, and ordered tapes by mail. I am seeing an Obgyn shortly who has been referred with flying colors. I cross my fingers. What else can I do? Why do birth defects happen, and what are the main constituents in doing so? Why do miscarraiges happen? Why would I not be able to get pregnant at age 32? I don't take drugs, drink, or smoke. I am in very good condition and work out 4 times a week. Everyone I know is having beautiful healthy, fat babies (girls for some reason) and all I can think is that sooner or later SOMEONE has got to have a problem.........what if it's me? I wish someone could tell me or direct me to a know-all resource of everything I can possibly do in order to ensure 1. I get pregnant quickly, and 2. The baby is 100% healthy and adorable and pudgy. Thank you for any recommendations ANYONE may have, Jennifer
