question about Down's

At my 20- and 21-week ultrasounds, an echogenic focus on the heart was detected. Because of my age (31), normal triple check results (1:1282 for Down's), and the absence of other markers, my peri did not recommend an amnio but did tell me that I may be at increased risk for carrying a DS baby.

Because I have APAs and required IVIg to get pregnant, I'm scheduled for monthly ultrasounds during my third trimester to check for IUGR. If my baby has DS, would it be detected on these third-trimester ultrasounds? If the ultrasound results are normal, would that rule out Down's?

Thanks for your time.
