Clomid and What About the Slow Rise Theory? From: Kelly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 17 Jul 2001 17:49:10 -0500 (CDT)
I conceived the first month I tried six months ago, but then miscarried at eight weeks. I'm 29 and we've been trying for five months since. My problem is that my ob looked at one of my charts and thinks I'm not ovulating, despite a positive OPK because my temps rise slowly and only about .7 over my coverline. My questions are... What about the slow rise theory? Why isn't this considered a possibility? She says to try two more months and then she'll put me on Clomid. I read that if I'm not really ovulating then I'm not really having a menses, and if I'm not really having a menses then it's impossible to get pregnant the month after a month without a true menses, even if you did actually ovulate. Is this accurate? Any thoughs on beginning Clomid and the slow rise theory would be very appreciated. Thanks for listening to me ramble.
