Re: Disappointed &mistrusting of docFrom: Rachael (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 17 Jul 2001 11:49:32 -0500 (CDT)
Call the doctors office. Ask to speak to the nurse. Tell her that while you understand the doctor has scheduled you for induction next week, you have not spoken to the doctor about risks (yes, there is risks with elective induction, quite a few of them actually) and you will not agree to be induced. Then request a doctor's appointment, with your doctor or another, to have your cervix checked and talk about induction, if you're still pregnant. You do not have to be induced. But you need to talk to his office and let them know what is going on. Doctors are busy, but it's still no reason to shuffle you through. If he's truly too busy to see you, you should be seeing someone else in his practice at your appointments. My first baby was born infected with GBS, and as far as I know (and I've read a lot on the bacteria) being GBS+ is not a medical indication for induction. Hang in there! Speak up for yourself!!!
