Augmentin and pregnancy

I am on clomid... and hopefully will get pregnant this month, but if I don't, and I get my period, the dr. suggested I take the augmentin on the day I got my period for 10 days so that I will finish the antibiotic one day after I finish the clomid (since I take clomid day 5-9). My question is 1) how quickly will the antibiotic be out of my system? 2) So,is it safe to begin trying to get pregnant the day after I stop the antibiotic? That is, day 10?

I read that augmentin is fairly safe during pregnancy, but that is not the sense the dr. gave me. 3) is it considered safe during pregnancy?
