erythromycin pills during pregnancy?

I am trying to get pregnant, so I had to stop my usual acne medication (differin, Benzoyl Peroxide...). My dermatologist put me on Emgel 2% (topical) to help my acne, but it hasn't worked very well. Is there any reason I can't take erythromycin pills? I would think this would work better.
